How to change your address with USCIS

In this post, we will tell you how to change your address with USCIS! Check it out!

It’s normal for Green Card holders and any other applicant’s who are waiting for a decision from USCIS to move around to different addresses in the United States for any motive. Perhaps you forget that you are supposed to tell U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services every time you move to a new address.

To avoid deportation risk, tell USCIS about your new address!

You can submit a change of address online or call USCIS’s customer contact number, 800-375-5283, to change their address.

Another way is to file and print out Form AR-11 and then mail it to the address listed on the USCIS website.

Remind you need to update your address with USCIS to ensure you receive all communications and benefits from us in a timely manner and avoid possible delays related to your case.

Keep in mind that to change your address with the U.S. Postal Service will not change your address with USCIS, so, update your information with both USCIS and USPS.

Most individuals can change their address in two ways:

Through your existing USCIS online account if you filed your form online;

  • Filing Form AR-11, Alien’s Change of Address Card, online using the Change of Address page;
  • Filing Form AR-11 online will update your address on all pending applications, petitions, or requests that you include on the form.

Remind you do not need to mail Form AR-11 if you use the change of address webpage.

Victims of Domestic Violence, Trafficking, and Other Crimes

If you filed or have a pending or approved form, you must mail your Form AR-11  and Alien’s Change of Address Card, to the Vermont Service Center address. This includes any form you file after that.

You must use certified, registered, or return receipt mail when sending your Form AR-11. This will give you proof that you mailed the form to USCIS.

If you file some of these forms, you need to mail Form AR-11:

  • Form I-360, Petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or Special Immigrant (as a VAWA self-petitioner);
  • Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status (as an abused spouse under the Cuban Adjustment Act; as an abused spouse, parent, or child under VAWA; or as a T or U nonimmigrant);
  • Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, filed by VAWA self-petitioner and T/U nonimmigrants;
  • Form I-765V, Application for Employment Authorization for Abused Nonimmigrant Spouse;
